The National Food Safety Mission (NFSM) praised India’s Andhra Pradesh (AP) state for driving and providing technology for farmers. AP has become a model state by introducing Rythu Bharosa Kendras and advancing agriculture testing laboratories in many villages in the region.
NFSM team expressed that they were astonished to witness the latest seed testing labs in Mandal centres and added that the endeavours of the Andhra state government ought to be stretched out to different states.
The group headed by National Oil Fed joint chief Dr K Ponnuswamy said we felt that Tamil Nadu is the forerunner for seed testing labs with 33 centres; however, we were amazed to see that AP has more than 160 centres. No other state has broadened and tested in the Agri sector and for farmers how Andhra has produced.
The scientists said a sharp decline in price growth due to climate change, maximum temperatures, and moderate rainfalls had impacted the sector. However, by 2030 or 2040, there will be an increase in the yield gap.
Moreover, AI-driven solutions, robotics, GPS and satellites, drones, and analytics are transforming India’s face in the agriculture sector.
