Navjot Singh Sindhu takes back his resignation after meeting Rahul Gandhi

Punjab -Following a meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Navjot Singh Sindhu has decided to not go ahead with the resignation he had earlier submitted after turmoil within the Punjab congress.

Sidhu had earlier resigned as the chief of the state COngress but on Wednesday, he met with Rahul Gandhi where he was convinced not to resign and hence withdrew his exit notice. Post the meeting, the Punjab leader said that all his issues have been discussed and things have been sorted out.

The announcement was further confirmed by Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat. Rawat stressed, He (Mr Sidhu) shared his concerns with Rahul Gandhi. We have told him that his concerns will be taken care of here.

Former Uttarakhand chief minister also added that Sidhu has also promised Rahul Gandhi to take back his resignation and resume working as the chief of the state congress party.

He assured Rahul Gandhi that he has withdrawn his resignation and he will resume his duties as the PCC (Pradesh Congress Committee) president. Along with Harish Rawat, he also reportedly met the party general secretaries KC Venugopal post in which he told the media that he is willing to follow any decision taken by the Gandhi’s.

He stated that he has full faith in the high command of the party and whatever top leadership–Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi vadra– decide, he will be going ahead with that decision, He added that he considers the party leaders to be supreme and will follow their orders.

Even though Sindhu has already confirmed the decision, his exact position on the matter is yet to be cleared. Talking about the same, a party leader, who requested not be named, said that a formal decision is expected on Saturday or Sunday about what the future holds for Sindhu. Rawat on the other hand said that the top layer of Punjab leadership are sorting issues and will be able to handle the matter in no time. He further said that Sidhu and Charanjit Channi have spoken on some issues and a solution will soon emerge even though it might take a while.
