Even though the thought of a snake invokes terror in most people, there is a community where snakes play a significant role in daily life.
In this place, snakes are not killed or chased away; instead, people coexist and even adore them.

Referring to Sausirkheda, a place where snakes are not feared. Snakes are the foundation of this community’s economy.
A snake charmer’s village called Sausirkheda is located in the Sarojini Nagar region not far from Mohanlalganj. In this 100-family community, there are more than 200 residents.
Every house here has a snake catcher as the head of the household, so snakes can be found wherever. Along with trapping snakes, these folks also use various medicines to treat snake bites.
They are invited to catch snakes by people from far and distant in addition to the neighborhood.
Has Relationships With Snakes For Decades
Adityanath, a resident of this village, claims that if a snake emerges in a home, people will repeatedly call him. He goes and captures the snake after that.
Although there is no price to catch snakes, those who do so keep the money they make and have access to rations as well.
Although it is not his family’s profession, snake-catching has been done for generations. The practice of trapping snakes dates back many generations.

Today, many families’ youngsters go snake-catching along with the heads of those families.
Tradition of Releasing Poisonous Snakes In Jungle
The deadly snake is also caught by the local snake charmers. They then let them loose in the forest. They claim that if a snake escapes from someone’s home, it is released within two to three days.
However, if the snake bites someone, it is kept for a month before being released in a secure forest.
According to snake charmers, no snake is ever caught if it is on a peepal or banyan tree. Based on a long-held conviction, this is done.
