MS Dhoni’s Retirement On 15th August? Story of Connection
The Chennai Super Kings captain’s decision to retire on August 15 was influenced by a special connection MS Dhoni has to that date.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former captain of India, retired from international cricket at precisely 19.29 hours on August 15, India’s Independence Day.
However, MS Dhoni has a special connection to August 15 and there was another reason why the captain of the Chennai Super Kings chose this day to announce his retirement.
Three ICC championships were won by India under Dhoni’s leadership: the Champions Trophy in 2013, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the T20 World Cup in 2007. He continues to be the only captain to have won each significant ICC trophy.
Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of MS Dhoni, revealed the special significance of Independence Day for the former India wicketkeeper on Tuesday in an Instagram story. On this day, MS Dhoni’s mother Devaki Devi also celebrates her birthday. Sakshi posted some pictures on Tuesday congratulating her mother-in-law Devaki Devi.
On August 15, 2020, Dhoni posted a photo to Instagram with the caption, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 19:29, please treat me as retired.
On July 7, 1981, MS Dhoni, the youngest child of Paan Singh Dhoni and Devaki Devi, was born. Jayanti Gupta and Narendra Singh Dhoni, Mahi’s older siblings, are the other two children. Mahi is the youngest of the three.
Ranchi resident Devaki Devi, who has been a housewife her entire life, prefers to lead a quiet life in the background.
