Modi Receives Russia’s Highest Civilian Award from Putin
Indian Prime Minister Modi is on a visit to Russia. During this visit to Moscow Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Order of St Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, Russia’s highest civilian honor by Russian President Vladimir Putin. This award recognizes PM Modi’s significant efforts in strengthening the partnership and friendship between India and Russia.
After receiving this award PM Modi expressed his gratitude and they have highlighted that this honor reflects the deep and longstanding friendship between the two nations Russia and India. He also emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to develop people-to-people connections for a stable and peaceful future.

This award was established in 1698 by Tsar Peter the Great. They establish this award in honor of Saint Andrew, the first apostle of Jesus, and patron saint of Russia.
The honor ceremony of Indian PM Modi took place in the historic Hall of the Order of Saint Andrew, which has also hosted Russian presidential inaugurations.
