Team India lost a consecutive second match in the T20 World Cup. On 30 October, India lost its second match, which was against New Zealand, by eight wickets.
Indian captain Virat Kohli was at the focal point of numerous online trolls and memes as the Men in Blue lost its second successive round of Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 to New Zealand.
India rolled out two changes from the side that were defeated by Pakistan last week as Ishan Kishan and Shardul Thakur got a spot in the beginning XI in place of the injured Suryakumar Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
The experiment of sending Ishan Kishan as an opener with K L Rahul, moving Rohit Sharma to number three, followed by captain Kohli at number four, didn’t work for men in blue. Ishan failed to give the kind of start India needed at the top of the order. India’s unexpected moves cost them big time, and it proved they were unsure of their plans. The Indian batting lineup easily tumbled down like a castle of the card.
