Mamata Banerjee Insults Pulwama Martyrs, Terms Terror Attack As Fake

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has sparked controversy by questioning the authenticity of the Pulwama attack on the Indian military convoy that occurred on February 14, 2019.

She accused the BJP of creating artificial incidents like Pulwama and making fake videos to insult the state of West Bengal.

This statement came amid a different incident in Malda, where two tribal women were allegedly stripped and beaten by a group of women after they were caught stealing something from the market.

While the Malda incident was a case of theft and the police are investigating the matter, Mamata Banerjee used the opportunity to question the Pulwama attack instead of addressing the issue at hand.

The BJP and its spokespersons criticized Mamata Banerjee’s remarks, condemning her for not taking appropriate action in the Malda incident and shifting the focus to unrelated matters like Pulwama and national security.

They accused her of doubting the bravery of Indian forces in the past, including in incidents like the Galwan clash, Balakot strike, and surgical strike.

The controversy has escalated as political parties use the incidents to criticize each other’s handling of security matters and women’s safety.

The BJP and its leaders are demanding accountability and action from Mamata Banerjee’s government in the Malda incident, while the Chief Minister’s remarks on Pulwama have further fueled the political tension.

It is essential to focus on addressing the specific incidents at hand, such as the Malda case, and ensure that proper investigations are conducted to deliver justice to the victims.

Politicizing such sensitive matters can divert attention from the real issues and create further divisions in society.

The priority should be to safeguard the safety and security of all citizens and promote responsible and respectful dialogue on critical matters like national security and women’s rights.
