Mahua Moitra says, “TMC-MGP alliance to fight Goa polls with CM face”

Goa -Mahua Moitra said on Tuesday that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) alliance will fight the upcoming Goa polls. She further said that the party will project a chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming election.

The TMC party’s main aim will be providing good governance in the coastal state. The TMC has tied up with the MGP for the polls to the 40-member assembly due in early 2022. Mahua Moitra is the TMC’s Goa in charge.

While addressing a press conference in South Goa, she said, “We will go to the elections with a chief ministerial face.” TMC party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev and local leader Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco also accompanied her in the press conference.

Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco recently joined the TMC after quitting Congress. His resignation reduced the Congress party’s strength to two in the 40-member House. Earlier this month, former Goa chief minister Ravi Naik also resigned as Congress MLA.

The Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal hit out at the ruling BJP and accused the party of playing dirty politics. She further added that the BJP has been creating communal disharmony in the country. Sushmita Dev said that the TMC has come to Goa to do politics of good governance.

Recently, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant accused the AAP and TMC of spreading “banner pollution” in Goa.
