Korea Open 2022: PV Sindhu And Kidambi Srikanth Storm Into Quarter-Finals

The Korea Open 2022 began on April 5 at Suncheon in South Korea. Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth progressed to the quarterfinals at the Korea Open Super 500 badminton tournament on Thursday. However, Lakshya Sen was ousted after losing his second-round match.

Sindhu, a two-time Olympics medallist, trounced USA’s Lauren Lam 21-15 21-14. Then, she defeated Japan’s Aya Ohori. Sindhu kept things under control to reign supreme. The Japanese did try to make a comeback in the second round with an 8-4 lead, however, Sindhu defeated her.

Sindhu will next face a familiar foe in Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungphan, whom she had defeated in the final of the Swiss Open last month. Sindhu claimed the Swiss Open title recently.
