Finally, after much anticipation, the teaser for Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is out and promises to be an incredible cinematic outing. Akshay Kumar plays the protagonist and is among other major cast members in the backdrop of the dark and tragic aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in April 1919. The film is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and seeks to retell an untold chapter in history on the big screen.

Akshay Kumar plays the role of Sir C Sankaran Nair, the fearless lawyer and freedom fighter who dared to challenge the British Empire in the aftermath of the massacre. His character introduction is via a strong voiceover, echoing a painful past to the audience: “Don’t forget that you’re still a slave to the British Empire.”
Inside a Magnet Case
This film is based on a book, The Case That Shook The Empire, by playwright Pushpa Palat and producer Raghu Palat. The legal battle Sankaran Nair fought against the British was one of the defining moments in the struggle for India.
