At the heart of the INSIGHT 2023 event, Ola’s founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, stressed the importance of AI in our lives. He highlighted the powerful role AI will play in merging different cultures.
Aggarwal emphasized the need for India to create its own AI systems, particularly in our Bharatiya languages. He pointed out that most AI today learns from data primarily not from India and doesn’t include our native languages. This gap, he believes, must be bridged to make AI more useful for everyday tasks for our people.
INSIGHT 2023 has been a platform for visionary ideas, particularly emphasizing the need for India-centric AI development and the vast potential of the EV sector.
The event, titled ‘The DNA of Success’, was more than just a business talk. It was a deep dive into the future of technology, especially focusing on the EV segment of the automotive industry and the evolving landscape of AI.
The discussions revolved around how these new technologies can unlock opportunities not just for business leaders but also enhance human capabilities.
Sadhguru, a profound speaker at the event, shared his thoughts on AI’s impact on humanity. He raised concerns about how AI, while being a boon, could also challenge our mental and physical health.
Sadhguru stressed the importance of learning ‘how to be’ when our survival needs are taken care of by machines. This, he says, is crucial as AI could potentially replace many jobs, and our well-being could become a significant challenge in the coming decades.
Bhavish Aggarwal also spoke about the exciting entrepreneurial opportunities in the EV sector. With the rise of AI, new business models are emerging, revolutionizing how products and services are delivered.
Ola, for instance, is making significant strides in this field with its all-women workforce in the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturing unit.
Aggarwal mentioned Ola’s plans to set up a vast Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu, highlighting advancements in lithium battery technologies that could even power commercial aircraft in the future.

According to Bhavish Aggarwal, he believes that AI will be a potent tool for cultural assimilation. However, for it to be genuinely effective and beneficial in our context, it needs to learn from Indian data and our languages. This localization of AI is essential to make it relevant and helpful for the common man in their daily life.
