Indrani Mukherjee Claims Daughter Is Alive; Presses CBI To Reopen Investigations

Guwahati -The prime accused in the murder of Sheena Bora, Indrani Mukherjea has sent a letter to the CBI Chief claiming that some woman inmate in the jail confirmed she had seen her daughter alive in Kashmir.

The former media executive was jailed under charges of having murdered her own daughter in 2012. Her claims are of her daughter being alive and that investigations to be opened about the same, adding a twist to her sentence altogether.

She has passed off her daughter as her sister for years. Finally, she was jailed in 2015 for the murder for her daughter from her first marriage. Three months after her arrest, her now ex-husband Peter Mukerjea was also arrested on charges of helping Indrani.

Ms. Mukherjee was able to brainwash everyone into the murder of her daughter. She roped in her second husband and her driver into committing the crime. Post the crime, Ms. Mukherjea claimed she has moved to US, when in actuality, her half-burnt body surfaced from the jungles of Mumbai, when her driver was caught for another crime, he had committed.

Earlier in August, the CBI had informed the court that it would not carry any further investigations into the murder of Ms. Bora. In November, the Bombay High Court dismissed the bail application of former INX Media co-founder, Indrani Mukerjea.

The CBI was investigating the Sheena Bora case since 2015, after taking over the case from Mumbai Police. According to the case registered by Mumbai Police, Sheena Bora was kidnapped and murdered by strangulation in April 2012. Peter Mukherjea ended his 17 years of marriage with Indirani while both were in prison and he was granted release in 2020. The new twist, apparently, seems like Ms. Mukherjea’s tactic to get bail and is not being taken seriously by anyone. Sheena lost her life when she threatened to expose her mother’s dubious deals.
