India’s Horse Rider Anush Agarwal Seals Bronze At Asian Games

India’s Anush Agarwal has earned historic bronze in dressage. The Indian equestrian team has already bagged gold after 41 years at the Asian Games 2023!

In the ongoing 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, India has performed quite well on the fifth day. India’s Anush Agarwal succeeded in winning a bronze medal in individual dressage.

In this event, a Malaysian athlete scored 75.780 points to win the gold medal, while a Hong Kong athlete with 73.450 points secured the silver.

Anush Agarwal from India achieved third place with a score of 73.030 in this event and won the bronze medal. This marks India’s first-ever medal in individual dressage in the history of the Asian Games.

Before this, on the fifth day, India’s Roshibina Devi won a silver medal in wushu, and another gold medal was won in shooting.

Prior to this, Agarwal, along with Chheda, Divyakriti Singh, and Sudipti Hazela, had secured a gold medal for India in team dressage competition after 41 years. India has made history in equestrian events at the Asian Games with this gold medal.

This is India’s third gold in equestrian events at the Asian Games. Sudipti Hazela, Divyakriti Singh, Hriday Chheda, and Anush Agarwal’s combined effort brought gold to the country after 41 years.

In 2018, India had won two silver medals in equestrian events, both in eventing, where Fouaad Mirza had secured the second position in individual competition, and then Rakesh Kumar, Ashish Malik, and Jitender Singh had won a silver in team eventing.

However, the youth ensemble of Sudipti Hazela, Divyakriti Singh, Hriday Chheda, and Anush Agarwal achieved a historic feat for Indian equestrianism in Hangzhou by overcoming all obstacles on Tuesday.

India’s total medal count in the Asian Games 2023 has now reached 25, including 6 gold, 8 silver, and 11 bronze medals. In the coming days, there is a strong hope that India’s medal tally will increase, with high expectations for a gold medal from javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra.

Well, horse riding is not just a sport; it’s a connection with a majestic animal, a partnership that demands trust and skill.
