Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar Discusses Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with UAE Minister
On Tuesday, S Jayshankar the External Affairs Minister of India met with UAE Minister Reem Al Hashimy who is on an official visit to Delhi, India. They discussed the strategic partnership goals between the UAE and India.
S. Jaishankar posted on X “It was a pleasure to meet Reem Al Hashimi, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation. Further steps in our comprehensive strategic partnership were discussed. Also exchanged views on the regional and global situation.”
Before meeting with S. Jayshankar, the Minister Of UAE Reem Al Hashimy also met with Vinay Kwatra who is foreign secretary. They discussed the ways for a Comprehensive strategic partnership between India and UAE. Their discussion was focused on bilateral ties.
The Ministry of External Affairs has shared a tweet regarding this meeting from the official X handle. Where spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the UAE minister met Vinay Kwatra. Multifaceted bilateral relations were reviewed and a comprehensive strategic partnership was discussed.
In the last decade, the UAE and India have been diversifying their ties and working on mutual goals such as security, food, energy, education, regional peace and sustainability, etc.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited West Asian countries in February 2024 and now the UAE minister is in India. This demonstrates the growing ties between two countries whose geographical locations are far apart on the map.
On his visit to the Middle East PM Modi had bilateral talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and attended the grand inauguration of a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi.
India has a free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates (2022). UAE Foreign Minister Jaishankar confirmed that today we are doing trade with UAE worth more than 80 billion dollars.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry press release, CEPA aims to increase trade between India and the UAE to more than Rs 100 billion over the next five years.
I would like to remind you that this all-trade agreement bridging the UAE and India was signed during a virtual meeting in 2022 in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Modi and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
India and UAE have been coming together for development and mutual benefit. This visit of the UAE Minister to India will again strengthen relations for the stability and peace of the region.
