India To Host Volleyball World Championships For Next 2 Years
The Volleyball World Championships will be held in India for 2023 and 2024. The top Indian volleyball players will participate in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL).
The Pro Volleyball League is back in the spotlight as it prepares for its second season. India will now host the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball’s Volleyball World Cup World Championship for the following two years. The Pro Volleyball League champions will also play in this league, which is the league’s main draw.
Given that India has not historically been at the forefront of the world volleyball scene, this is a huge accomplishment for volleyball in India.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both the players and the fans, as the players will be able to test their skills against the best players in the world while the viewers will get to see some of the most talented and well-known volleyball players in the world.
The Pro Volleyball League, a franchise-based format, served as the foundation for the Prime Volleyball League’s initial development in India.

Following a legal dispute, the league was later canceled by Baseline Ventures and the Volleyball Federation of India. The promoters ultimately prevailed in the court dispute.
The Volleyball Federation of India is not currently involved in the Pro Volleyball League arrangement, where the promoters and franchise owners are the stakeholders.
The top volleyball players in India have also chosen to participate in the PVL, further demonstrating the league’s legitimacy.
Additionally, the CWC has assisted the new PVL in establishing credibility on a global scale.
The first Volleyball World Championships were held in 1989, and they continued until 1993. After a protracted hiatus, the FIVB brought it back in 2009, after which it has been hosted annually.

The Volleyball World Championships have been held 17 times thus far, with 11 victories coming from Italy. Serbia and Russia have each won one title, while Brazil is in second place with four titles.
Speaking of the Pro Volleyball League season 2, it begins on February 4 and will feature Mumbai Meteors, a new team that has been added to the competition.
The Indian teams from Bengaluru, Kolkata, Calicut, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kochi are among the cities represented in the league, which kicks off in Bengaluru.
