ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024: An overview of Team India Team, the players to watch out for, and much more
Rohit Sharma and team are set to turn up the heat from game one against Ireland on 01/06/2024 in the group stage. But the blockbuster awaits on June 9 when team India faces Pakistan. Everyone would like to see if King Kohli brings out his destructive form back on the crease as he did in this year’s IPL against Pakistan in particular.
Top Order / Batsman
The chase master is set to be back at what he does best, run chases. If the team is not chasing, Kohli is likely to open with Rohit Sharma with his role being to anchor the innings while Sharma gets going by hitting the ball out of the park at first.
Every cricket fan would be longing to watch RoKo raining 4s and 6s all round the ground as Virat’s classic cover drive would be a spectacle to watch out for along with Rohit’s Pull Shot. Along with the two big guns, the rest of the pack consisting of Suryakumar Yadav who is often referred to as India’s Mr 360 would be another player who would have an immense impact in the batting line up. He is likely to come up the order at number 3 that Virat usually bats in. If not at number 3, he will be at number 4 coming handy at increasing the run rate of the innings during the middle overs from 7-15.
Yashaswi Jaiswal also gets picked up adding a left hand batting option in the top order as his destructive batting in the first power play would be handy.
Middle Order / All Rounders
Hardik Pandya makes a return into the squad and also becomes the Vice Captain. After his poor performance in the Tata IPL 2024, he is likely to be under a lot of pressure. He would like to have a good time in the WC with both bat and ball. Hardik will be under scrutiny of the experts but he is quite a valuable player in the team.
Rishabh Pant comes back into the team as the number one wicket keeper after a quite decent season with the bat and gloves behind the stumps. It would be likely that he will be the key finisher along with Hardik both of them coming at 5 and 6 respectively.
With the likes of Shivam Dube who would be looking to make a dream debut, then Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja (the man with the bullet arm) lower down the batting order, Team India is going to be rest assured that they have all the boxes ticked be it batting firepower in the top or middle order.

Lower Order / Bowlers
With Shami missing out this world cup due to injury, it is a big blow to the team’s pace attack. But Boom Boom Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj would be up for compensating for Shami. Arshdeep Singh also brings in the option of a left arm seamer for Rohit Sharma to consider.
The spinning department sees Kulcha once again as Kuldeep Yadav and Yezuvendra Chahal come back together along with the left hand orthodoxes Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.
The stadiums would like to see Miyan Magic of Siraj and the bullet arm throws of Ravi Jadeja along with the unplayable yorkers of Bumrah. Grandmaster Chahal and Kuldeep would be eager to weave webs of spin in the slow pitches of west Indies as spinners would be preferred there.
Replacements
The Prince of Indian Cricket, Shubhman Giill along with left hand bat destroyer Rinku Singh, pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan make up the replacements.
The stage is set for Team India and lets see if the cup can be brought home.
