Hurun Rich List 2025: know the top indian richest person’s name here

India has stamped its imprimatur on an economic powerhouse state, which now ranks third in the global billionaires’ list. India has 284 billionaires according to the Hurun Global Rich List 202,5 after the United States and China.
Mukesh Ambani: Asia’s Richest Man Still
Mukesh Ambani’s fortune has gone down compared to last year’s, but he is still the richest man in Asia. He would be worth Rs 8.6 trillion, though it has reduced by Rs 1 trillion compared to last year’s amount. Meanwhile, Gautam Adani also saw his wealth increase by 13% to Rs 8.4 trillion.
13 New Billionaires in India
This time, the new addition to the India billionaire list is the 13 names this year. Together they add up to more than Rs 98 trillion, almost one-third of the country’s GDP and even more than the total economy of Saudi Arabia. Of the 284 billionaires, 175 increased their net worth while 109 retained or lost some of their wealth.
Mumbai: The Billionaires’ Capital of India
Mumbai is still the most preferred city in India for billionaires with a tally of 90, and it had to cede that title to Shanghai, the new capital for billionaires in Asia housing 92 billionaires. Behind it comes Beijing with 91. Regardless, Mumbai added 11 new billionaires this year, surpassing those of the other two: London (7) and Beijing (8).

A total of 45 billionaires were inducted into India’s list of billionaires this year. While 130 Indian billionaires saw growth in their wealth, the figures for China and the USA were much higher: 285 and 544 billionaires, respectively. Interestingly, the wealth of Indian billionaires increased by 10 percent over the previous year, ahead of China’s growth by 9 percent, but it still pales in comparison with the American surge of 27 percent.
India is steadily increasing its billionaire count and is thus carving a niche for itself in the global wealth map toward making an even stronger economic impact in coming years.
