ONGC
The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India is considered to be the top tax paying corporate of the country, despite of reports that the company is incurring losses. ONGC pays taxes worth of Rs 11, 49.13 billion, which comes just over 50 per cent of the profit earned by it.
Reliance Industries
The largest public trading company headed by Mukesh Ambani, the Indian conglomerate has paid Rs 47.83 billion in taxes, 25 per cent less than the profits made by it.
Coal India
The corporate house of India that bagged Maharatna status in 2011 by the government, pays Rs 55.95 billion in taxes.
NTPC
The National Thermal Power Corporation of India pays taxes worth Rs 35.87 billion.
The Steel Authority of India (SAIL)
The Steel Authority of India pays a whooping Rs 35 million in taxes to the government.
Infosys
The Indian company has a global name in outsourcing, technology and consulting. With a turnover of USD 7,231 billion, the company pays taxes worth Rs 3,367 crore to the government of India.

Life Insurance Corporation of India
One of leading insurance carriers in India, the company gives Rs 26.77 billion in taxes.
State Bank of India
The largest bank of India, SBI pays Rs 45.99 billion in taxes.
