Harela Festival 2022: 15 Lakh Saplings To Plant In Uttarakhand
The Harela is a festival of greenery. On the auspicious occasion of the Harela Festival 2022, Uttarakhand Forest Department is going to plant 15 lakhs saplings.
A planting drive will begin on Saturday for the Harela festival in order to enhance the attractiveness of the natural surroundings in Devbhoomi.
15 lakh saplings of various kinds will be planted during this campaign, which will take place outside of the forest regions, according to the action plan of the Forest Department. It will be planted with 50% fruit kinds.
The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’s plantation, which will last through August 15th, will have a different theme everywhere. Additionally, correct plant maintenance will receive significant attention.
The Forest Department has made the decision to perform a large-scale plantation this time around on Harela festival, per the directives of Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal.

Departmental plantation is currently taking place in the forest areas, as per Vinod Kumar Singhal, Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of the Forest Department.
Additionally, key locations in cities, villages, and towns as well as areas next to the forest boundary have been designated as candidates for plantation, and theme-based saplings will be planted there.
We’ll plant Rudraksh, Triphala Harad, Bahera, and Amla trees as well as fruitful, shady, and decorative species somewhere.
He stated that on Saturday, the plantation campaign would begin in Dehradun with the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal.
75 saplings will be installed in each of the forest panchayats
The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence has also been connected to a plantation on Harela. There will be 75 to 75 seedlings planted in each of the state’s more than 12,000 forest panchayats.
The forest panchayats would be in charge of their conservation. Fruit-bearing species will be given more consideration in Van Panchayats. The creatures there will have access to food because of this.
By planting trees, everyone may show that they are actively involved in protecting the environment. As a result, in addition to the general population, departments as well as institutions have been involved in the plantation that will be held on the Harela festival. The residents of the state are asked to continue planting and caring for new saplings.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Wished For Harela Festival
On the occasion of the Harela festival, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the residents of the state.
He claimed that the folk festival “Harela,” which honors the environment, is a representation of Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage.
The statement of prosperity, greenery, and environmental conservation is also conveyed through this festival. He said that the state has a history of valuing nature and conserving the environment.
