Happy World Smile Day 2022: History, Theme & Celebrations With Loved Ones

7th October is celebrated as World Smile Day every year in most of the countries around the globe. The theme for World Smile Day 2022 is that a smile has no boundaries.

World Smile Day 2022: We all enjoy keeping a smile. A simple grin can relieve even the worst stress in your life. Even better is when you enable someone else to grin because of you.

This is the purpose of World Smile Day. Every year, the holiday is observed on the first Friday in October, which is October 7 this year.

History of World Smile Day

The idea for World Smile Day was first put forth by American artist Harvey Ball. He created the recognizable smiling face image in 1963.

Harvey eventually realized that the “over-commercialization” of his insignia had robbed it of its original meaning.

He created the idea for World Smile Day, a day devoted to deeds of kindness, as a result of his worry. The first Friday in October has been recognized as World Smile Day since 1999.

The Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation was started in his honor when he passed away in 2001.
