Guru Nanak is one of the most respected Sikh gurus and the founder of Sikhism. His birthday, known as Guru Nanak Jayanti, is commemorated annually.
The day begins with a “Akhand Path,” during which several Gurudwaras repeat a verse from the revered Guru Granth Sahib for 48 hours. The fortuitous day will be observed this year on November 8, a Tuesday.
According to legend, Nanak was born about 1.20 am. Therefore, worshipers continue their evening prayers until then while singing praises to Gurbani. Around 2:00 am, it eventually comes to an end.

In honor of Guru Nanak Dev’s 553rd birthday, which is observed on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted prayers at the home of Iqbal Singh Lalpura, the head of the National Commission for Minorities, on Monday (November 7).
