Gadar 2 vs OMG 2: Two Sequels To Clash This Year, Sunny Deol Reacts
Two highly anticipated Bollywood films, ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Oh My God 2’ (OMG 2), are set to clash at the box office on August 11, 2023.
In a recent interview, Sunny Deol, the lead star of ‘Gadar 2,’ expressed his views on the clash and drew comparisons to a past situation when ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ clashed with Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan.’
Sunny Deol emphasized that comparing films with distinct genres and appeal is unfair. He believes that good films should not be compared, as each has its own essence and charm.
He recalled facing similar comparisons with his other films, like ‘Ghayal’ and ‘Dil,’ but despite the initial skepticism, those films found their distinct audience and appreciation.
Sunny Deol, an actor, said in an interview that he is not bothered by the box office collections. He cares about the audience reactions & their love.
He believes there are many ways to tell stories and sometimes the strategy needs to be changed. He thinks it’s important to believe in the stories and share them with the audience with good intentions.
‘Gadar 2’ is directed by Anil Sharma and features Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. The film is a highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.’
On the other hand, ‘Oh My God 2’ is directed by Umesh Shukla and stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam, and Arun Govil.
Both films have intriguing storylines and star-studded casts, making the box office clash exciting for fans and the Bollywood industry.
However, Sunny Deol believes that comparing the films is unnecessary and that they should be appreciated for their unique qualities.
In light of potential controversies, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is reportedly scrutinizing the dialogues and scenes in “OMG 2” to avoid any backlash similar to that faced by ‘Adipurush.’
