Flag Code of India: Now Tricolor (Tiranga) Can Be Hoisted for 24 hours

The Central Government has amended the Flag Code of India so that common people can also hoist Tiranga with less restrictions to enhance patriotism in the country.

Around the nation, the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign has been launched in conjunction with the Amrit Festival of Independence. 

Due to the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, the central government has also altered the flag code’s regulations.

The common people (citizens) can now raise the flag at their residences, according to the material, following changes made to the flag code’s guidelines. 

According to sources, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is the cause of the flag code’s changes. This Center decision represents an effort to put the national flag inside peoples’ homes.

Modifications Of The Flag Code Regulations

In fact, the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, launched in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the nation’s independence, attempts to inspire Indians to fly the tricolor without any limits. 

Flags will be created using these components. These materials include khadi, cotton, polyester, and wool. 

Previously, polyester and machine-made flags were prohibited from use. Neither the size of the flag nor the time it is hoisted are subject to limitations.

Now the national flag can be flown for 24 hours

Previously, the national flag could be flown from dawn till dusk. The national flag may now be hoisted or displayed by a representative of a public, private, or educational institution on all days and occasions, a report stated.

States have been encouraged to utilize Self Help Groups (SHGs) for flag production, according to the Culture Ministry. MSMEs and neighborhood sewing shops are also featured in this.

20 Crores Flags (Tiranga) Will Be Hoisted

The Ministry of Textiles has identified flag producers who supply flags in large quantities. The source said the flags would be available for sale in all 1.6 lakh post offices in the country.

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has been launched to motivate citizens to hoist the tricolor at their homes for three days from August 13 to August 15.

As per an official statement, more than 20 crore national flags will be hoisted over the houses for three days.
