FIFA Pay Tribute To Sunil Chhetri With ‘Captain Fantastic’ Special Series

FIFA has released a special series ‘Captain Fantastic’ to honor Indian footballer Sunil Chhetri’s achievements. He’s the 3rd highest goal scorer in the world.

Sunil Chhetri, a legendary player in Indian football, will now be remembered globally as FIFA produced a special series honoring his outstanding career. 

There are three episodes of the “Captain Fantastic” series, which is accessible through FIFA+.

With 117 goals, Ronaldo tops the list, and Messi is second with 90. Only six goals separate Sunil Chhetri from Messi, who is second on the list. 

Chhetri has featured in 131 games and scored 84 goals for the Indian team during the duration of his impressive career.

Significantly, India has not yet participated in the FIFA World Cup, but Chhetri’s participation in the new series demonstrates how much of an influence he still has on football worldwide. 

Furthermore, Chhetri ranks after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the third-highest goal scorer in current men’s international football.

FIFA has also informed about this short series ‘Captain Fantastic’ through a tweet. FIFA World Cup also tweeted to remind that Sunil Chhetri is only behind 6 goals to be the 2nd highest goal scorer in the world. They wrote,

This series is a part of FIFA+, a global organization’s attempt to create original content. Chhetri will consequently undoubtedly be the subject of discussion when Indian football is discussed internationally.
