Fastest Man Of India: Amlan Borgohain Sets New 100m National Record
Amlan Borgohain, the Indian sprinter from Assam sets a new 100-meter national record. He broke the 6 years old national record of Amiya Kumar Mallick.
In the men’s 100-meter sprint on Monday, Indian sprinter Amlan Borgohain established a new national record.
At a stunning 10.25 seconds, Amlan completed this distance at the All India Inter Railways Athletics Championships in Raebareli.
Amiya Kumar Mallick’s (10.26s) national record was broken by Assamese athlete Amlan Borgohain in 2017.
With a time of 10.25 seconds, this 24-year-old sprinter Amlan has already surpassed all previous records for India.
Amlan’s previous best time was 10.34 seconds, which he recorded at the National Open in Warangal the previous year.
This teenage sprinter already holds the national record for the 200 meters, and he recently added the 100 meters record to his resume.
Amlan liked to play football, but his mother advised him to stop since he would often get injured.
Himashree Roy won the women’s 100-meter race in 11.42 seconds, and R. Rajesh and Kiran Pahal won the men’s and women’s 400-meter races, respectively, in 46.73 and 53.91 seconds.
