Dubai will host the Indian Premier League and Men’s Twenty20 Cricket World Cup Finals

Dubai -The Dubai sports committee has declared that they will be co-facilitating the Indian Premier League and the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup alongside Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Moreover, the current Indian Premier League finals and the upcoming men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2021 will be held in Dubai. 

The ICC has moreover said that the most liked men’s T20 Cricket World Cup would start in the United Arab Emirates from 17 October till 14 November.

One of the most-viewed cricket events as well as the richest cricket tournaments, the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, are already taking place in three famous stadiums Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. 

Considering the Covid-19 cases rising in players and support staff, the competition was put to a halt by the BCCI in May 2021. The pandemic outbreak in India got worse during the second wave, and BCCI said they didn’t want to compromise on the protection of support staff, players, and organizers of the IPL.

The BCCI likewise chose to have the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE. Dubai will be in the spotlight for more than one billion worldwide viewers.

Dubai will host the ICC Twenty20 World Cup final on 14 November 2021; from a total number of 45 matches, 12 will be played in Dubai. The IPL 2021 final will also take place in Dubai on 15 October, and among a total of 31 matches, 13 will be hosted in Dubai.

The vast majority of the cricket fans around the globe will be waiting for the traditional rivals India vs. Pakistan match in the upcoming ICC Twenty20 World cup, which will be held in Dubai on 24 October (Sunday).

India versus Pakistan cricket match is perhaps the most viewed, intense, and exciting sports event in the world. More than 90% of cricket fans will arrive from South Asia at Dubai International Cricket Stadium to watch the rivals play on 24 October.

Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council Saeed Hareb said this event would be the main highlight as the two teams haven’t played for two years since the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup in England. 

“Several communities from India and Pakistan consider UAE their home. A great deal of Pakistani and Indian fans from around the world will be arriving in the UAE to watch the tournament, especially for this match. Hareb stated that he expects a big buzz around this game, both outside and inside the arena, he added.
