Draupadi Murmu Elected As 15th President of India
Draupadi Murmu has been elected as 15th President of the country. She has defeated opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha & will succeed Ramnath Kovind.
The next President of the nation will be Draupadi Murmu, a candidate for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is in power. He triumphed against the opposition candidate, Yashwant Sinha, in today’s vote tallying.
Murmu received more than 50% of the votes by the third round of counting, ensuring his victory as president.
On July 25, Murmu will take the oath of office as the nation’s fifteenth president. On July 24, the tenure of current president Ram Nath Kovind came to an end.
Draupadi Murmu: India’s 1st Tribal President
Murmu has made history by becoming the 1st tribal president of India with his victory in this election. Additionally, she will be the first President from Odisha.

In addition to this, Murmu is the nation’s second female president. Only Pratibha Patil held the office of President before him.
Murmu was previously the governor of Jharkhand and began her career as a clerk in the Odisha government.
India Made History : PM Narendra Modi
In addition to congratulating Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi noted that by choosing a tribal daughter as President, India had made history today.
He asserted that Murmu’s fight serves as inspiration for all Indians and that she has become a symbol of optimism for the underprivileged.
All of the MPs & MLAs who supported Murmu were also thanked by the prime minister. Other opposition leaders have also sent their congratulations to Murmu.
Yashwant Sinha Congratulated Draupadi Murmu
Following the declaration of the results, Yashwant Sinha released a message congratulating Draupadi Murmu on her election as President.
She expressed the desire of every Indian that, in her capacity as President, she will uphold the Constitution without fear or favor.
Sinha also expressed his gratitude to the elected officials who supported him and the opposition party leaders who selected him as a collaborative candidate.
Celebration & Roadshow By Bharatiya Janata Party
Following Murmu’s triumph, the BJP is getting ready for a major celebration. From the party headquarters in Delhi, party members have also begun a road tour that would end at Rajpath. The BJP’s state affiliates in every state have already started planning for the event.
BJP President JP Nadda and PM Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Murmu at his temporary residence in Teen Murti to express their congratulations on his election as president. Other leaders are welcome to go to him.
Predetermined Victory of Draupadi Murmu
On July 18, voters cast their ballots in Parliament and other gatherings all around the nation for the presidency. Over 99 % of the MPs & MLAs had voted in favor of it.
A total of 44 parties declared their contribution for Draupadi Murmu and 34 parties supported Yashwant Sinha prior to the elections. A few MLAs & MPs also cast a cross-vote for Murmu during the election.
It was anticipated that Murmu would win this election with ease in such a circumstance.
