Australian off spinner on Virat Kohli’s absence: The cricket matches between Australia and India are not only iconic for terrific display of game but also age old rivalry between the players. One such player is Indian Captain and batsman Virat Kohli. Recently media reports confirmed that Captain Kohli will be leaving Australia after the first test match, cricket lovers have expressed their concern over it.
On the same, the Australian bowler who took 21 wickets in the Test series last time when India visited the greenland in 2018-19–Nathan Lyon–said that him not playing in the series is a huge disappointment. He added, “ We always want to play against the best in the world.”
Having said that, the Australian bowler added that Kohli not playing doesn’t give the Australian team any extra edge.
“It’s disappointing for the series. You want to play against the best players in the world, I believe he is the best player in the world along with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. It’s disappointing but they have still got superstars.”
He also credited other Indian team stars saying that the team has also got Pujara, Rahane and also some other new youngsters who will be playing this time. The 32-year-old said that it is going to be a massive challenge for the Australian team.
While talking to Fox Sports, Lyon said that even though Kohli is not playing, it doesn’t guarantee our win and the team has got a lot of work to do. Virat Kohli decided to head back for his baby arriving in January.
As already said by the bowler, Cheteshwar Pujara will be playing a very important role in the series. He is often credited for his test match skills and the patience he comes with on the ground. This trust especially increased after he won ‘Man of the series’ award after his 521 run knock from the seven innings last year.
Other key players were Rahane and youngster Rishabh Pant who along with Kohli managed to put up a staggering total on the scoreboard. Indian had won the series two to one in the 1018-19 tour.
The upcoming test match will start from December 17 in Adelaide.
