Despite Covid scare, CWG Queens baton welcomed in India

The 22nd Commonwealth Games is all set to roll with the Queens Baton arriving in India on Monday. This year, the prestigious tournament will be held in Birmingham.
The most awaited Queen’s baton relay will commence on January 12 this year in a criss-cross format through the national capital to Bengaluru. After reaching the southern city on January 14 it will move towards Bhubaneswar on January 15.
The baton is an important part of the commonwealth league a sit carried a message from Queen Elizabeth II of the UK. The commonwealth games 2022 will start from July 28 to August 8 in Birmingham.

Talking about the same, IOA President Narinder Batra said, “The Baton for “QUEENS BATON RELAY”, for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Arrived in Delhi on 10th January 2022 and Mr Hamid Director General Bangladesh Olympic Association carried it from Bangladesh.” The process of receiving the baton started as it was received at Indira Gandhi International Airport where chairman of QBR Committee Rakesh Gupta, also the Joint Secretary of Indian Olympic Association was present to receive it.
