Delhi Liquor Scam: Everything About Manish Sisodia Arrest
AAP leader & Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is alleged of corruption & taking bribes in exchange of giving licenses to liquor traders under Delhi excise policy.
Manish Sisodia’s detention by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following eight hours of questioning in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case crippled the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi.
The CBI detained Manish Sisodia in connection with allegations of corruption and bribery involving the national capital’s 2021 implementation of a liquor excise policy.
The claims against Sisodia, according to AAP officials and party members, are untrue and the result of a plot by the BJP and the Central.
After searching Sisodia’s bank locker in accordance with the investigation in August of last year, his arrest occurred months later.
The deputy CM had asserted at the time that investigators had not uncovered any evidence-gathering objects in his locker.
Sisodia has been expressly detained, but he is not included as an accused party in the case’s chargesheet. The chargesheet names seven suspects, including the arrested businesspeople Vijay Nair and Abhishek.
The CBI had earlier demanded that Sisodia show up for interrogation on February 19.
Sisodia asked the central agency to postpone questioning last Sunday, stating that he was “preparing the budget” at the time and could only come before it near the end of February.
According to a CBI officer, numerous raids were carried out at 21 locations in Delhi and the NCR last year, including Sisodia’s home and the workplaces of four public employees. He claimed that the raids took place in 7 different states.
On the basis of a report that the Delhi chief secretary forwarded to L-G Saxena urging a central agency investigation, the CBI opened an investigation into the situation.

Manish Sisodia is a key leader of the AAP party and the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Education of Delhi. It should be mentioned that the Delhi cabinet ministers receive a salary as an MLA or MLC in the national capital rather than compensation for their positions.
Manish Sisodia should earn nearly Rs 50,000 each month as he is a Delhi MLA. This indicates that Sisodia earns Rs 6,00,000 per year as a member of the Delhi government. According to media sources, he has assets and a total net worth of about Rs 93 lakhs.
Charges against Manish Sisodia by CBI
In the Delhi liquor scam case, the CBI has charged Manish Sisodia with corruption and bribery. The CBI had previously filed a case alleging bribery and fraud in connection with the new excise policy, but the matter was later dropped.

Manish Sisodia’s home and offices had already been raided by the CBI. The CBI’s claimed that the Delhi excise policy issued permits to traders and businesses who had bribed the Delhi government.
