Congress To Announce Telangana CM, I.N.D.I. Alliance Meeting Postponed
Today many people are awaiting the Congress party’s decision regarding the Chief Minister of Telangana. Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge is set to make a crucial announcement naming the next Chief Minister of the state. All eyes are on Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Congress chief, who is currently the top contender for this significant role.
Speculation is that Reddy is likely to replace the current Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). This change comes after the Congress party’s recent victory in the Telangana Assembly Elections 2023.
The I.N.D.I. Alliance, an opposition coalition, had planned its fourth meeting in Delhi for December 6th. However, this meeting will now be conducted with members of Parliament rather than party chiefs. The main focus of the meeting will be strategizing and discussing seat-sharing for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
A notable update is that a separate meeting of the chiefs of the member parties has been postponed to the third week of December.
This adjustment comes after some key leaders, including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, decided not to attend the December 6th huddle.
Mamata Banerjee expressed that she was not informed about the meeting in advance, leading to a clash with her prearranged events in North Bengal. Similarly, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar are also expected to miss the meeting, with Kumar citing illness as the reason.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reacted to these developments by questioning the future and unity of the I.N.D.I. Alliance. West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar suggested that Mamata Banerjee’s absence indicates a lack of faith in the alliance’s future.
BJP MP Dilip Ghosh also commented, pointing out the absence of Nitish Kumar, who was seen as a key figure in leading this opposition coalition.
