Congress Denies Joining the Inquiry Committee for Probing Parliament Row

On Thursday, Congress said it wouldn’t designate any party member to a proposed committee that will be set up to inquire into the uproar that took place in the Monsoon Session of Parliament on August 11.

It won’t just stifle the voices of spokespeople yet will intentionally forget about every one of those that are annoying to the public authority,” Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, stated in a letter to the chairperson of the Upper House, M Venkaiah Naidu.

The letter continues to state, “I hence, unequivocally oppose creating the probe committee, and the subject of a party proposing the party members name for same does not arise,” Kharge added.

Kharge emphasized that the Modi government swept aside the opposition parties’ request for discussion and raced through passing essential policies and bills, potentially seriously affecting India.

On August 11, a ruckus ignited in Rajya Sabha with the Opposition MPs yelling various slogans against the government in the House.

Security staff had to be deployed in considerable numbers in the House to forestall a rehash of comparative situation that had transpired on August 10 in Parliament, during which a few Opposition MPs had moved on tables and tossed papers, demanding that the Center must pull out the farm laws. Security was standing in a cross-gendered way – male marshals were situated close to female MPs, and female security officers were standing near the male MPs. Congress party had alleged that the security officers mistreated the female MPs.
