After seeing the crowds flocking in liquor shops yesterday(May 4,2020) Chhattisgarh govt has came up with a new plan in a perspective to maintain the social distancing and at the same time, fulfilling the needs of people. The new plan from Chhattisgarh govt launched a website portal for home delivery of liquor to avoid gatherings and crowd outside the liquor shops. The online portal for home delivery of liquor has been named after the state-run CSMCL (Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited), which controls the sale of liquor in the state.
An Chhattisgarh govt official said that, Chhattisgarh has launched a web portal for home delivery of liquor in green zones of the state to avoid gatherings near the liquor shops. The liquor shops which have been closed since March 23 were re-opened in most of region across the Nation from yesterday (May 4,2020).
To order/buy liquor from this CSMCL (Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited) website portal people have to register their mobile number, Aadhaar number and address for placing the order online which will be confirmed through an OTP (one time password). People/ Customer are eligible to purchase 5 litre at a time for home delivery with additional delivery charge Rs 120/-.
People of Chhattisgarh can make their orders directly through the CSMCL website or its mobile app available on the Play Store. Congress being the ruling party of the state now have imposed this web portal and BJP as opposition party condemns this idea of home delivery of liquor.
The nation is under Lockdown 3.0 due to corona virus spread and corona pandemic. Lockdown 3.0 ends on May 17.
