Chennai to Penang in 4 Hours: IndiGo Announces Direct Flights
The low-cost airline IndiGo has launched daily direct flights between Chennai and Penang to improve connectivity between India and Malaysia.
This new direct route is set to commence on December 21st of this year and it will expand IndiGo’s presence in Southeast Asia and reduce travel time from approximately seven hours to just four hours.
Currently IndiGo provides direct flights to Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi in Malaysia in addition to Penang. Furthermore on December 21st of this year the airline will resume operations between Bengaluru and Kuala Lumpur.
Key details of IndiGo’s direct flight route from Chennai to Penang:
Flight 6E 1045 will tentatively service the Chennai to Penang route departing from Chennai at 2.15 a.m and arriving in Penang at 8.30 a.m.
Flight 6E 1046 will handle the return flight from Penang to Chennai. This flight will depart Penang at 9.30 a.m and arrive in Chennai by 10.35 a.m IndiGo will share the final schedule based on regulatory permissions.
The launch of daily direct flights between Chennai and Penang will offer a practical choice for both leisure and business travellers as India is Malaysia’s fifth largest source market. Additionally, the two nation’s cultural and economic links will be strengthened by this new route.
There is currently no direct connection between India and Penang despite the fact that Penang is accessible to international locations including Hong Kong, Dubai, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. With improved connection and more chances for travel and business, IndiGo’s inaugural direct route will increase commercial and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
