CBI Arrests CA Of KCR’s Daughter In Delhi Liquor Case
The CBI arrested Hyderabad-based CA Butchi Babu Gorantla in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. He is believed to have served as an auditor of Kavitha.
According to news agency ANI, the CBI detained Hyderabad-based chartered accountant Butchi Babu Gorantla on Wednesday for his suspected involvement in the development and execution of the Delhi excise policy.
The identity of Butchu Babu Gorantla, a former assistant of Kavitha, a Telangana MLC and the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has previously been connected to the case.
According to the CBI, the strategy resulted in “wrongful gain” for Hyderabad’s retail and wholesale licensees and their respective owners. Today, he will appear in court.
The CA was summoned to Delhi and was later detained because he was uncooperative and giving evasive answers, according to news source PTI.
The CA has been mentioned in the lawsuit previously, so this is not the first time. The Enforcement Directorate searched his home in Aravind Nagar, Domalguda in 2022 since he was Kavitha and other prominent people’s personal auditor.
When Kavitha was interrogated by the CBI about the policy, she refuted all claims that she had received bribes as a result of the policy.
Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, has been listed as the main defendant in a lawsuit involving alleged infractions in the Delhi Liquor Police 2021–2022.
As a result of the controversy, it was canceled. A South cartel of liquor suppliers is said to have paid AAP officials 100 crore to get a benefit in the liquor policy.
Aurobindo Pharma’s P Sarath Reddy, BRS MLA Kavitha, and YSRC MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy were all members of this cartel.
The CBI claims that Gorantla’s involvement in the development and operation of the now-canceled Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22 resulted in “wrongful gain” for Hyderabad-based retailers and wholesale licensees and their owners of the company.
On Wednesday, the agency will bring him in front of this particular court. In connection with the matter, the CBI had summoned Kavitha, the chief minister of Telangana’s daughter, in December of last year.
