Businessman and Sonam Kapoor’s husband, Anand Ahuja recently has to face allegations of tax fraud on himself. He spoke out against these allegations on Sunday calling them ‘baseless’.
He straight away denied the tax fraud allegations on him and said that just by sending some ‘doctored invoices’ to his name by an international shipping company will not prove anything.
The incident reportedly took place a month back when Anand took to his Twitter account to call out his terrible experience with a company that he recently collaborated with. He said, “Does anyone know someone at @MyUS_Shopaholic – I’ve been having HORRIBLE experiences recently.”
He also said that this particular company has been holding items to themselves and are rejecting all formal, legal paperwork for whatever reason. This complaint was further amplified by his wife, actress Sonam Kapoor who added to his tweet saying, “Terrible customer service is shameful.”
The company replied to the complaint on February 1 saying that the matter is not regarding the customer service quality or any new policies but it was about a detailed misrepresentation by Ahuja when he reduced the price for sneakers purchased online so that it could result in him paying ledd duties and taxes.
In what looked like a furious tweet, Anand then called out the company for ‘baseless slandering’. He pointed out that they were the ones to have refused to cross-check or validate the PDF received and bank statements with the motive to overcharge him. He then concluded that he had moved all the items from the list and also closed his account after all the fiasco.
