Not just Indian media, but also foreign media, had no choice but to cover her and Vivian’s romance. However, due to a variety of factors, including cultural barriers, the couple’s love tale could not survive:
Vivian arrived in India with his West Indies squad for a tour in the late 1980s, and the two began dating. He had already formed an idea of a woman’s man at the moment.

The two met for the first time at a function in Mumbai, where a filmmaker had invited the legendary actress. They had little in common, and Viv had never heard of Bollywood, but a spark ignited between them.
The two began dating when their encounter became routine. Viv, meanwhile, was already wed and the parent of young children at the time.
The couple continued to hold their connection hidden for quite some time. However, Neena was surprised to learn that she was expecting a child, but marrying Vivian was out of the question.
Neena Gupta was reared by religious parents, and it was unheard of back then to have a kid out of wedlock. Given the level of attention that celebrities receive today, they might think twice about having a love child.

Neena Gupta, on the other hand, was not one to be intimidated by society’s rules. She defied her friends and family’s wishes by continuing her pregnancy and giving birth to Masaba Gupta, her love kid.
Once, in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Neena Gupta stated that the one thing from her history she wishes she could go back and change was her relationship & being a mother. She said in the interview,
“I would not have a child outside marriage. Every child needs both parents. I was always honest with Masaba, so it did not affect our relationship, but I know she suffered.”
Neena ultimately found love at the age of 42 when she married Vivek Mehra, a chartered accountant from Delhi, in 2008.
