BJP To Screen New Entrants Joining From Outside

Bharatiya Janata Party is now going to start screening candidates coming from outside to join their political party. Their antennas are up since a new inductee lead the party into troubled waters. Jitendra Singh Bablu, a former BSP MLA was accused for burning down the house of the BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi. 

A lot of candidates from either Congress or outside are gradually moving towards the BJP. It started as a subtle movement and has now taken prominence over the last few months. The new screening process will comprise a five-member committee that will keep a special eye on the membership drive.

There will be five senior leaders in the screening committee who will be responsible for the checking of the bio-data of prospective candidates.

Although the names of these committee members are still to be decided, sources confirm that the committee will comprise office bearers and some spokesperson. The criterion for selection will include a thorough check of criminal records, pending cases etc. 

Jitendra Singh Bablu, a former MLA from Bijapur, had joined the party on August 4. Many leaders of the party had raised objections to this. Apart from this, BJP MP Rita Joshi expressed displeasure over this matter and also informed the party high command that Bablu was accused of burning down her house. Due to pressure, the party membership of Jitendra Singh Bablu was canceled within just 6 days.

It is learned that the party does not want to take any risk regarding its image before the upcoming elections in the state. Therefore, now the final decision will be taken by a screening committee regarding the membership drive of the party.
