Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games: Indian Women’s National Cricket Team Is Ready To Win

After 24 years, Women’s Cricket is going to be played in the Commonwealth Games. The Indian Women’s National Cricket Team will take the field against Australia today.

Commonwealth Games 2022: Women’s cricket players will have the opportunity to compete in a multi-sport tournament for the first time at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. 

After 24 years, a match will be played in the Commonwealth. Additionally, efforts will be made to draw attention to women’s cricket on a global scale. India’s opening game, which is this Friday, is against Australia.

India Versus Australia Today

Today’s match between India’s women’s cricket team and Australia will begin. It will be crucial for India to prevail in this game.

Despite the fact that Australia’s squad is the world champion and has a stellar record versus India. India’s best all-rounder Deepti Sharma stated in an interview,

“I’m very, really thrilled for the Commonwealth Games. It’s comparable to playing in the World Cup for me.  I have been preparing for this for a long time.”

India Versus Pakistan, On 31st July

Since there are a lot of individuals in Birmingham who are of Indian and Pakistani descent, many people are anticipated to attend the match between these two nations on July 31. 

The India-Pakistan match, according to Birmingham Games CEO Ian Reid, will be among the Commonwealth Games’ major highlights.

8 Participants, 4 Teams Into 2 Groups

Two groups of four teams each are formed from the eight participating teams. India, Pakistan, Australia, and Barbados make up Group A, while England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka make up Group B. All the teams will have a chance to evaluate where they stand before the T20 World Cup the following year during this competition.

Cricket Can Be Included In Olympics 2028

The International Cricket Council (ICC), which is working to get cricket into the Olympics in 2028, is hoping that the success of women’s cricket in Birmingham will support its case for getting the sport into the Los Angeles Olympics.
