South Africa -Amid the growing speculations about whether Virat Kohli will be a part of the upcoming South African series, one of the BCCI officials has come out to clear the mess once and for all.
On Wednesday, the BCCI official clarified that there were chances of the former all-format captain of the Indian side to back out from the series citing personal reasons but there are high chances of him reconsidering his decision. The BCCI official showed hope that Kohli will definitely be a part of the playing squad in the 50-over launch.
The concerns or speculations about his involvement grew after Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy of the Indian side and Kohli was forcefully asked to step down. This is going to be the first series where Kohli will be playing under Sharma after resigning from the post earlier this month.
Sharma led the team during the T20 International match against New Zealand, which was his first attempt after Kohli’s step down. Kohli was rested during the series but he will be back in action for the South African series in coming days. Sharma however will be missing the Test series starting at the Centurion on December 26 due to a hamstring injury.
