In response to his involvement as Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has made it abundantly clear that his government is not going to take any action against his father or son unless something concrete is proven.
Apparently, Ashish Mishra has already skipped the summons that was sent to him on October 08, 2021. The SIT into the whole matter is being conducted by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Umesh Aggarwal, and Superintendent of Police Vijay Dhull.
CRPC Act 160, a summons issued to a witness and not actually an accused. As a murder accuse where an FIR was filed on the day of the crime, he was not arrested. Instead, he was given 48 hours to appear for questioning and has been given preferential police protection already. Supreme Court has already accused UP Police of being careless of having handled the case. Chief Justice himself said that Ashish Mishra should be treated as normal as any other Indian citizen and does not need to be given special treatment.
It took them literally 5-6 days before Ashish Mishra has appeared for questioning. It seems as if this is also a charade and has received protection against media interactions as well. Apparently, a senior officer has said to the media that if the media itself can find evidence, they would take action against Ashish Mishra.
Social media is looking at all this as a simple empty action with no justice. A senior police officer, yesterday contradicted the Union minister‘s claim saying that their team had been to Ashish Mishra’s residence but did not find him. The officer said that Mishra junior was on the run and the police was searching for him and intended to take him into custody for questioning.
