Apple Integrates iTunes Movie Store With TV App In New iOS 17.2

Apple has recently come up with its new version, iOS 17.2 (beta 2), which has some interesting features and changes. The most talked about one is the Spatial video recording feature and the new Journal app for iPhones.

But there’s another change that’s quite important but not as much discussed. Apple is starting to phase out the iTunes Movie Store.

What they plan to do is merge this store with the TV app. This means that the separate iTunes Movie Store, which we have been using for years, will slowly be removed from iPhones.

As of now, it’s not done yet, but there are hints in the iPhone’s code. These hints suggest that soon there will be a message for iPhone users saying, “iTunes Movies moved to the Apple TV app.”

Now, if we talk about the TV app, it’s getting some changes too. After the iOS 17.2 beta 2 update, when you open the TV app, you’ll see a new sidebar that makes it easier to find and watch stuff.

This sidebar has different sections like Search, Watch Now, Channels, Store, and Library. It looks like Apple might add more options to this app, which could make the iTunes Movie Store unnecessary.

And yes, you can still buy movies and TV shows through the TV app. The process is already there, and it seems like it will continue.

Apart from this, the new iOS update has another exciting feature – spatial video recording. But this is only for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

These phones can record videos in a special way, which is compatible with something called Apple Vision Pro. This is a new device by Apple, and although it’s not out for sale yet, it will let you watch these spatial videos.

One more thing added in this update is the Sensitive Contact Warning feature. It’s now in apps like Phone, Contacts, and Messages. It helps you be careful with who you’re contacting and how.
