Akshay Kumar denies fees slashing rumors for his upcoming movie

A few days ago, media reported that Akshay Kumar has slashed down his fees by Rs 30 crores on Vashu Bhagnai’s request for Bell Bottom. On Monday, Kumar dismissed all the reports suggesting that he compromised on his fees.

Akshay Kumar is reportedly charging Rs 117 crores for his role in Bell Bottom and recently media reports claimed that he was ready to cut his fees by Rs 30 crores on the makers request. Bhagnani had requested the actor to compromise on the charge that he usually takes as he felt that the film had already incurred loss due to delayed release and it would be beneficial if the actor were to cut down his fees.

He took to twitter to refute the claims. Here’s what the actor had to say-

Of course, watching their favourite star handle the fake news with savage replies thrilled them. In no time, his fans started appreciating the actor for calling out fake news. Manu even went to the extent of referring to him as a teacher for all those who choose silence rather than handling fake news head on.

Many started to criticize the entertainment site for spreading false news. Things quickly got escalated to the extent that many started running a hashtag called #boycottbollywoodhungama. The website claimed that they have gathered from their sources which confirm that owing to the pandemic, the release of the movie was delayed and hence the director made such a request.

Bhagnani is targeting tier 1 and tier 2 cities and hence is making sure that the budget does not go overboard and directly approached Kumar for this who agreed to cut down his fees. The report added, “If theatrical, it’s a given that the film wouldn’t earn what it would have in a normal scenario.”

However, after Akshay Kumar himself took time to dismiss all these claims, the record has been set straight that the actor in now way agreed to such a request nor such a request was made to begin with.

Along with Akshay, Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Adil Hussain star in the title roles. The movie was all set to release on May 28 but due to the lockdown, the release was postponed to a later date.

Akshay will be returning to his action role as he will be essaying the character of a RAW agent in a plot based in the early 1980s.
