Aishwarya Rai’s Iconic ‘Jodha Akbar’ Costume Displayed at Academy Museum
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has declared Aishwarya Rai’s stunning wedding lehenga from the film ‘Jodha Akbar’ in the COLOR IN MOTION exhibition to be held at the Academy Museum. This innovative costume designed by Neeta Lulla is studded with zardozi embroidery with a golden peacock embedded in dress made from the components of jewellery which has been concealed within the dress.
The scenes being highlighted at the Academy were from Ashutosh Gowariker’s historical drama where Rai was paired opposite Hrithik Roshan. The reveal arrives as Indian cinema is gradually gaining more ground on the global front as a number of movie projects vie for the Oscars in the 97th Academy Awards. Though India has been out of the running with its official entry ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ there is still hope for ‘Anuja’ by Guneet Monga in the category of the Best Live-Action Short Film.
