‘Agneepath’ Scheme Get Launched To Recruit Soldiers for 4 Years

Indian govt. announced an Agneepath scheme to recruit soldiers for all three forces, for a shorter period of 4 years. The soldiers will be known as Agniveer.

Reactions to the ambitious new “Agneepath” scheme’s recruitment of short-term contracts in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force are varied. The action aims to reduce the cost of pensions and payroll inflation.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made the statement on Tuesday following the Cabinet Committee on Security’s approval of the new strategy. The idea of “Tour of Duty” has not been put to the test or used in an experimental manner; it is currently being used directly.

As a result, former Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia believes it will serve as a wake-up call for the military forces.

According to him, the choice would militarize society, disenfranchise roughly ₹40,000 (75% of) adolescents annually, and cause melancholy due to a lack of employment.

The young people hired under the “Agneepath” program will be referred to as Agniveers. Seventy-five percent of the firemen, who will be hired for four years, will be recent retirees.

Nitin Welde, a retired group captain, said it was hasty to judge on the proposal at this time. The strategy, which has been developed with a perspective to cutting expenses, is already being put into action.

According to former Major General B.J. S. Dhanoa, this choice might prove disastrous for the predicted changes in the military in the twenty-first century. However some former or retired officers criticized this concept.

According to Home Minister Amit Shah, the choice to hire people for a little time was groundbreaking. He said that the program will provide young people more opportunities and guarantee a successful future for both them and the nation.
