Here are the 5 most impressive young Indian talents unearthed in IPL 2022.
Tilak Varma
As MI looked for a substitute for the injured Suryakumar Yadav, the 19-year-old made his IPL debut this year. Tilak concluded the season as MI’s second-highest run scorer, trailing only Ishan Kishan, with 397 runs in 14 innings and a 131.02 strike rate.
Sachin Tendulkar has hailed Varma as the next big thing in Indian Cricket. He said, “Tilak Varma is a very promising cricketer. I got to interact with him in the first half of the tournament. Umran Malik
Umran Malik, a gun fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir who played for SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2022, drew heads with his rapid pace. Malik routinely bowled at speeds exceeding 145 km/h, including a 157 km/h against the Delhi Capitals in Mumbai.
In 14 matches for the Orange Army, the 22-year-old prodigy took 22 wickets at an average of 20.18 and an economy rate of 9.03.
Malik’s greatest performance of the season came against the eventual champions Gujarat Titans, when he bowled 5/25. However, his efforts were in vain, as SRH fell by five wickets in that game.
Jitesh Sharma
When a star-studded Punjab Kings opted to give him glovesman responsibility in the camp, the promising 28-year-old earned his first chance to participate in the playing XI this season. Jitesh, who was signed by Mumbai Indians in 2016, didn’t get a chance in the XI there, but he didn’t disappoint Punjab after a lengthy wait when they put their faith in him.
Punjab had another disappointing season in the IPL 2022, failing to qualify for the playoffs, but Jitesh was one of the few players who consistently performed well with the bat. The middle-order batter delivered a number of critical hits for his club, but he didn’t get much help from the lower-order to turn them into significant runs.

Mukesh Choudhary
With the new ball, Choudhary, who was a net bowler on a squad previous season, became a regular starter and striker bowler. Deepak Chahar, the Indian bowler who was pulled out of the event owing to injury, was missed by Chennai Super Kings.
However, because of Chahar’s injury, Choudhary was given a larger part in the bowling attack in his maiden season. In the early stages of the season, the left-arm pacer had a number of tough encounters, but he kept his head up and bounced back after rapid learnings. He concluded the season with 16 scalps in 13 games.
Mohsin Khan
The left-arm seamer has emerged as one of India’s brightest future possibilities. In his first IPL season, the left-arm seamer wrecked havoc with his bowling. The Lucknow Super Giants took their time before naming Mohsin in their starting lineup, but he did not disappoint. He was one of the season’s most promising discoveries.
In nine games, the lanky bowler took 14 wickets at a 5.96 economy rate. In the early overs, international superstars such as Faf du Plessis struggled to get going against him. For the past few years, India has been in desperate need of a good left-arm seamer, and Mohsin has all the tools to put an end to that.
