Zomato Opens 800 Vacancies Amid Global Layoffs

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal offered people to apply for 800 vacancies at Zomato. There are about 800 positions open across five roles within the company.

Foodtech company Zomato has asked individuals to submit applications for more than 800 open roles within the company as tech layoffs leave thousands in shock.

The change occurs precisely two months after the business let go about 3% of its staff due to regular performance.

In the past year, Zomato has had a number of high-level departures, including the resignation of 2 co-founders.

“Around 800 vacancies in these five roles are open at Zomato. Deepinder Goyal, co-founder and CEO, said on LinkedIn:

“If you have a chance to know someone very good for any of these roles, please mention them on this thread.”

He asked those who were interested in learning more about any of these roles to contact him via email at deepinder@zomato.com.

Additionally, the ad featured images of the five professions’ respective job descriptions and specifications.

The business had earlier on Monday denied rumors that it was discontinuing its 10-minute food delivery service.

The food aggregator claimed that it was developing a new menu and aiming to rename Instant.

Zomato claims that all of its finishing stations are still operational and that no people were harmed as a result of the choice.

Only a few days had passed since co-founder and chief technology officer Gunjan Patidar’s resignation.

One of Zomato’s original few workers, the firm praised his work in developing the organization’s primary technological infrastructure in a regulatory filing. However, the January 3 edit omitted a statement about the grounds for his resignation.

Earlier than this, another co-founder Mohit Gupta had departed in November of the previous year. In 2020, Gupta—who had joined Zomato four and a half years earlier—was promoted from CEO of the company’s meal delivery division to co-founder.
