You should have thought before speaking, Mukesh Khanna on Saif Ali Khan after Adipurush

Mukesh Khanna on Saif Ali Khan: After Saif Ali Khan’s remarks on his upcoming movie Adipurush’s character Ravan, social media flooded with reactions of people who were offended by his comments and among those was the veteran actor Mukesh Khanna. 

Khanna who is most famous for his role in a superhero series Shaktimaan, took to social media to express his disappointment where he was found saying that the Jawaani Janeman actor should have thought before speaking as rejected his apology. 

“Do not know why Saif feels that it will be so easy. Lankesh is not a ball that you want to spin with your bat. Should I call it naiveté or foolishness? They do not know that they are playing with the faith of crores of Indians in the country, or that they know it and are still deliberately saying these things. Or should I call it the audacity of the director producer who calls himself an intellectual, who still has a desire to make such films,” said the Shaktimaan actor. 

He even went on to comment on the apology made by Khan saying that it is so convenient to throw a punch at someone just to say sorry. He then questioned why could not think before speaking.

The upcoming movie which is surrounded by controversy is directed by Om Raut and will likely star Bahubali actor Prabhas alongside Kriti Sanon. Khan in an interview said that the film will essentially show a humane side of the mythological character Ravan.

This offended a large section of the society who felt that a character that is evil by nature should not be portrayed in such a manner. But following the outrage, Khan sson issued an apology saying that it was not his intention to hurt the sentiments of people as he himself considered Lord Rama as a symbol of heroism. 

He said, “I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness & Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions.”

Mukesh Khanna has been quite active in recent months over such issues involving one’s religion and other conflicting values. He has come out in support of the Queen actress Kangana Ranaut in her recent controversy of slamming farmers for protesting where she also referred to them as terrorists.
