After the grand success of the G20 summit, get ready for a grand unveiling of Delhi’s Yashobhomi, which is set to be one of the world’s largest MICE facilities!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) called ‘Yashobhomi’ on September 17, which is also his birthday and Vishwakarma Jayanti.
Yashobhomi is one of the largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities in the world. It has a total project area of over 8.9 lakh square meters and a built-up area of more than 1.8 lakh square meters.
The Convention Center, which covers more than 73 thousand square meters, has 15 convention rooms including the main auditorium, the Grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms.
It can accommodate up to 11,000 delegates and has the largest LED media facade in the country.
The main auditorium can seat around 6,000 guests and has automated seating systems that can be adjusted for different seating configurations.
The Grand Ballroom can host around 2,500 guests and has an extended open area for up to 500 people. The 13 meeting rooms are spread across eight floors and can hold meetings of different scales.
Yashobhomi also has one of the largest exhibition halls in the world, covering over 1.07 lakh square meters.
It is connected to a grand foyer space with a unique copper ceiling that filters light through skylights. The foyer also houses various support areas such as media rooms, VVIP lounges, and ticketing facilities.
The facility is designed with materials and objects inspired by Indian culture, such as terrazzo floors with brass inlay and patterned walls.
It also has sustainable features like a 100% wastewater treatment system, rainwater harvesting, and rooftop solar panels. Yashobhomi has received the Green Cities Platinum certification for its sustainable design.
YashoBhoomi, a new metro station in Dwarka Sector 25, will be connected to Delhi Airport Metro Express line. This will reduce travel time as the operational speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line will increase from 90 to 120 km/hr.
The new metro station will have three subways, one of which will connect it to exhibition halls, convention center, and central arena.
Another subway will connect it to the entry/exit points across the Dwarka expressway, and the third one will connect it to the future exhibition halls of Yashobhoomi. The journey from New Delhi to YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 will take just 21 minutes.
The International Exhibition-Cum-Convention Center (IECC) ‘Bharat Mandapam’ in New Delhi was used to host the G20 summit in September 2023.
The complex is very big, with a convention center, exhibition halls, and an amphitheater. It can hold up to 7,000 people, making it one of the largest convention centers in India.

This helps the local economy by increasing tourism and business opportunities. It also creates jobs in event planning, hospitality, and security. It also promotes cultural exchange and improves infrastructure.
These centers promote knowledge sharing and intellectual growth by attracting experts and professionals. Hosting international events boosts tourism and showcases the country as a destination for such events.
