The U20 World Wrestling Championship is going on in Sofia, Bulgaria. On the 2nd day Indian freestyle grapplers won 4 medals in four weight categories.
On the second day of the current U20 World Wrestling Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria on Saturday, Indian freestyle grapplers took home a total of 4 medals.
To finish on the podium, Abhishek Dhaka (57 kg), Sujeet (65 kg), Mulayam Yadav (70 kg), and Neeraj (97 kg) each won their individual bronze medal matches.
In the bronze-medal match, Abhishek Dhaka downed Heorhii Kazanzhy of Ukraine 8-5. Abhishek had previously defeated Greek opponent Andreas Parotsidis by a score of 12-2 due to technical dominance.
Sujeet, the junior Asian champion, defeated Mykyta Zubal of Ukraine 12-2 thanks to technical dominance. In order to earn India the third medal of the competition, Mulayam Yadav also defeated Georgia’s Gigi Kurkhuli by a similar margin in the technical category.
Neeraj won the 97kg division and India’s fourth medal of the day. In the bronze-medal match, he defeated Georgia’s Luka Khutchua 18-10. In the rematch, Neeraj defeated Dmitrii Duscov 10-0 due to technical dominance.
After obtaining a successful berth, Mahendra Gaikwad (125 kg) claimed another medal for India.
In the semifinal, Gaikwad defeated Namoz Abdurashidov of Uzbekistan 6-0. On Wednesday, he will contend for the gold.

After losing in their respective semifinal matches, Sagar Jaglan (74 kg) and Kumar Mohit (61 kg) acquired bronze medals.
